An alarming truth is that unconscious bias is pervasive in UU congregations. It is also true that many Unitarian Universalists have not personally experienced the impacts of such bias, though Black, Latinx, Asian, Indigenous, poor, disabled and LGBTQ+ congregants understand it as a day-to-day reality. How do we close this gap between our UU ideals and the unconscious bias in our congregations? By listening and learning.
