All-Ages Service: The Roots of Halloween. Before Halloween, there was an even older holiday called Samhain. Samhain goes back hundreds, even thousands, of years to when people’s lives were deeply connected to the land, the food it produced, and the changing of the seasons.
The holiday we call Halloween originated as a celebration of the Earth’s bounty, and as preparation for the coming dark days of winter.
Join us for this all-ages service! Children are invited to wear Halloween costumes.
