Our annual Pledge Drive usually occurs in the spring to enable financial planning for the for the upcoming fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). However, anytime can be a good time to pledge.
What is a pledge?
A pledge is a promise to donate a specified amount to the Greenville UU Fellowship during the fiscal year. It’s a commitment to love, interdependence and community – our core values. It is a sign of your decision to sustain this welcoming and radically inclusive community of faith that empowers all through liberating love and the unrelenting pursuit of justice.
Why pledge?
It’s our congregation. We are self-funded and self-governed. Making an annual pledge is how we fulfill our responsibility as GUUF members to support, maintain and grow our fellowship. It stabilizes our finances. Annual pledges, and the donations which fulfill them, make up about 80% of our revenue. Unlike unpredictable weekly offerings and fundraisers, pledges provide a reliable estimate of income that enables the Board and Finance Committee to create a realistic budget for the coming year. It sustains our vital ministries. Your pledge directly funds everything that makes our congregation meaningful and enables our spiritual community to thrive.
It manifests our spiritual value of generosity. Pledging is an opportunity to align your financial resources with your UU values and spiritual principles. Consider what GUUF offers you, your family and the larger community alongside your personal ability to make the best and most generous pledge that you can. Your pledge will make all the difference!
