Really Interesting Classes for Adults.

Adult RE has been working on its programming and we are looking for people interested in becoming part of our growth and our mission.
Here are the April and May Adult RE Opportunities:

Saturday mornings from 9 am – 11 am. April 27. Word has spread about the wonderful program designed for our youth as they transition into young adulthood. They have a one year process called Coming of Age. In this program, the learners investigate many aspects of their faith and how they see the world. This is known as a wonderful learning experience, based in self-awareness that leads to spiritual growth. Adults, hearing of the course, have often commented that they would like “something like that” for themselves. Kathleen Anderson and Ed Proulx have taken several aspects of the Youth Coming of Age Program and modified them for adult participants, and will facilitate those in three, two hour sessions. Each session is stand-alone, meaning you can attend any combination of one, two or three of the sessions. The sessions will be interactive and involve multiple activities and speak to multiple learning styles.
Breakfast snacks and coffee will be offered.

Beyond the Veils:
April 27, 9 am – 11 am Founders Room (#105) Investigate your thoughts on two of our most well-known veils, God and death.

Sundays, before Services from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. April 28, May 5, and May 19. Long-time GUUF member and Associate Professor of Religion at Furman University, Dr. Alfons Teipen, leads a three session Introduction to Islam. This program was well received in the past.

Saturday, May 4 at 10:30 am in the Founder’s Room (#105)

Crossing Over (AKA “Going, Going…Gone?”): Exploring reports of life beyond death with Sandy Westin. There will be time for questions and answers.

Our Adult RE committee is small (just four mem-bers right now). We would like to invite you to join us. What we really need is people who like organizing events. Making sure the advertising is done, the facilitators have what they need, the calendar work is done and that the classes are known. If that sounds interesting to you, you sound interesting to us.
