The Long Run and the Long View

Longevity in nature can come from genetics and dumb luck. Longevity for any human undertaking, especially for building communities and institutions requires much more. How do we make things that stick around? It’s a beautiful exercise in creativity, free will, communication, perseverance, and a long view. In other words, it invites the best from us.

Freedom of Conscience

As Unitarian Universalists, we trust in the development of each individual conscience—a belief that such development is possible for each of us, as well as a commitment to cultivate our own conscience. Why is the right of conscience important in our spiritual lives, congregational lives and beyond?
