Holding Death Close Brings Joy

In our largely death-phobic, grief-illiterate society where eternal youth and preserving life at all costs are the order of the day, the idea of death as a positive presence in our lives seems counter-intuitive, if not downright misguided. When we hold death close, however, we can see things in proper perspective, and the intentional life lived from this awareness brings with it a deep joy in the days we are given.
