Did you know that charitable giving through your IRA may help you save on taxes while providing support to the Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship?

If you are 70½ or older and have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you are likely familiar with the option to donate through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes referred to as an IRA Charitable Rollover. With the recent changes to the tax law, a QCD may make sense for people over 70½ as a way to support GUUF while maintaining tax advantages.

Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA, and specify that you want to make an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution.  You are required to take a minimum distribution by December 31st.

For those who want to donate an appreciated security.  Please do it sooner rather than later! Don’t wait until the last week!  We are all volunteers and we may not be able to assist you for the current tax year if we wait until the last minute.

Did you also know that we can process multi-year pledges?  Due to new tax laws, many people are “bunching” their deductions in one year!  If you are “bunching” your deduction, think about donating a multi-year pledge. Interested?

Thank you for your continued support of the Greenville UU Fellowship!
