Covenant Circles
COMMITMENT to a shared spiritual journey
CONNECTION with others In beloved COMMUNITY
“A friendly church is good. That’s a start. But people aren’t looking for a friendly church. They are looking for friends.” ~Peter Bowden
Are you seeking a closer connection to other folks at the Fellowship? Do you crave conversation beyond coffee hour chit-chat and a chance to explore some of life’s biggest questions with other extraordinary people? Do you wish for a way to get involved in congregational life?
If so, then our Covenant Circles may be what you’re looking for.
What is a Covenant Circle?
Small groups provide opportunities to develop deep and meaningful connections, as well as safe community to explore and grow spiritually. A typical meeting combines personal check-ins, readings, guiding questions, and individual sharing focused on a particular theme.
Members develop a covenant-a sacred promise-about how they will be together and agree to abide by it in all their dealings with one another. What unites the members is a desire for deep connection with others and a commitment to spiritual growth in their lives.
Our groups have 7 to 10 members and trained facilitators. Our groups at Greenville UU usually meet twice a month at a regular time for 1.5 to 2 hours. Some groups meet at GUUF, others meet in participant’s homes and some circles meet virtually (zoom).
If you are new to GUUF, we recommend, if possible, that you take the Starting Point course before joining a Covenant Circle. We will share the information about the Starting Point course when we connect with you.
To sign up now, fill out our on-line Registration Form. We will contact you and work to find a group that fits your schedule and location needs.
