The Artist’s Reception was on March 12th.
Bella Bishara is a Greenville-based fine artist and illustrator. She graduated from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Visual Arts. She also received education at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Though raised in Greenville, she is originally from Egypt.

Her work involves themes of identity, religion, and mental health. She incorporates materials such as yarn, crochet, beads, and clay into her acrylic painting and drawing. Her vibrant, abstract colors help separate the contents of her work from reality, keeping it living in an imaginary space. The adornments and borders found in her work mimic those found in Coptic Orthodox churches and artwork, as well as the ornamentation and vibrant colors found in Art Nouveau illustrations.
