The “Wheel Sessions” is a jazz performance series hosted in Greenville, South Carolina. Performances begin at 7:30 pm, and are held in front of an intimate listening audience. All proceeds go to the musicians.

Guitarist/bassist/composer Mike Holstein is one of the most sought after musicians in the Southeast. An avid composer, Mike was one of the founding members of the Jazz Composers Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to the presentation and documentation of original, instrumental jazz. As a mainstay in the Forum, he has presented his own music multiple times as leader and in the capacity of ‘Composer-in-Residence’.  At Wheel Session 61, Mr. Holstein will lead a trio that features himself on guitar, Charleston bassist Brett Belinger, and Greenville drummer Kevin Korschgen.

The Wheel Sessions is excited to bring legendary Latin/Jazz drummer Ignacio Berroa to Greenville, SC. Ignacio Berroa has been recognized by many as one of the greatest drummers of our time. Jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie best defined Ignacio as: “… the only Latin drummer in the world in the history of American music that intimately knows both worlds: his native Afro-Cuban music as well as Jazz…”.

Performing with Mr. Berroa will be three of the Carolinas foremost jazz musicians, Lovell Bradford – piano, Jorge Garcia – guitar, and Mike Holstein – bass.
