PARIS MOUNTAIN DINING FOR WOMEN Held on the last Monday of each month, 6:30 pm. This month DFW meets on September 24 in the Fellowship Hall (Room 112). This month’s featured recipient will be GAIA NURSING SCHOLARS PROGRAM (NSP) in MALAWI. This project, which is part of the GLOBAL AIDS INTERFAITH ALLIANCE, will fund 20 nurses (10 per year) in the fourth and final year of nursing school and will help their transition to careers as nurses. Together with the communities it serves, GAIA, a secular nonprofit, develops innovative and caring healthcare programs in resource-deprived regions in Africa, especially those most affected by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. For more information see www.thegaia.org/ During our monthly meetings, we learn how a group of women in the world are fighting poverty with the help of DFW grants (which can be as high as $50,000 to each deserving organization). Also, we savor a good meal, and we build relationships in a nice and relaxing setting.
Please RSVP to Paris Mountain Dining for women chapter in Facebook or to Luci Fernandez (email@example.com).
