How to Receive GUUF Emails to Gmail
If you have Gmail, your GUUF Mailchimp messages may be going directly into a folder, out of view. In many cases, this may be the Promotions folder.
Here are two ways to ensure you see these messages:
1. Add the Mailchimp address to your Contacts.
a. Search for mail from 74da62e951f745c74bddbfb44 mc list <74da62e951f745c74bddbfb44.121 3.list-id.mcsv.net>
b. Add a contact for that list, giving it a name such as “GUUF Mailchimp”
2. Add a Filter for GUUF Mailchimp e-mails
a. Search for mail sent from that address and open it
b. Click on the small downward pointing arrow after “to me” so that it says “Show Details”
c. On the next screen click on “Filter messages from this mailing list”
d. On the next screen that appears click on “Create filter with this search”
e. At this pop-up screen:
(i) check “Apply the label” if you wish to create a label for all Mailchimp emails from GUUF (this is optional)
(ii) check “Categorize As” and select “Personal”
(iii) check “Also apply filter to matching conversations” if you wish all the past GUUF Mailchimp messages to be moved to your Inbox and given the same label and treatment as this one
(iv) click on the blue “Create Filter” button to finalize these actions
Clearing Your Browser Cache
If you’re not seeing the latest version of the Order of Service or the Flame, you may need to clear your browser’s cache
- Click the Chrome menu (the three dots in the top-right corner). In the pull-down menu select More tools > Clear browsing data, which will open a pop-up tab. (Or conversely, you can just press Ctrl-Shift-Del.)
- In the new dialog box, check the box next to “Cached images and files,” as well as any other types of data you would like to delete. In the pull-down menu at the top, you can control the time period over which you would like to delete data—everywhere from “the past hour” to “the beginning of time.”
- Click the “Clear browsing data” at the bottom of the dialog box.
This process is very similar to clearing data in Chrome—you can just press Ctrl-Shift-Del to open the Clear Recent History dialog box. Then check the box next to “Cache,” choose a time range from the pull-down menu at the top, and click Clear Now.” However, if that process doesn’t clear your issues, then you can try this slightly more in-depth route:
- Open the Options dialog box. You can get here two ways: 1) Hit the “Alt” button to reveal the pulldown menus at the top and click Tools > Options, or 2) Click the three horizontal lines in the top-right and then select Options.
- Select “Advanced” in the menu on the left side of the options screen.
- Select the “Network” tab.
- In the “Offline Web Content and User Data” and “Cached Web Content” sections, click the “Clear Now” button. And then hit Okay.
- Open the Delete Browsing History box by a) clicking Ctrl-Shift-Del or b) clicking the gear in the top-right corner > Safety > Delete browsing history.
- Be sure the box next to “Preserve Favorites website data” is unchecked. Conversely, make sure the box next to “Temporary Internet files and website files” is checked. Then click “delete” at the bottom.
This one is for Mac users only. For some reason, the most updated version of Safari doesn’t have an easy direct route to delete your cache. You can delete your cache along with all your other browsing data (history, cookies, etc) by going to the Safari menu > “Clear History and Website Data” to prompt a pop-up similar to the other methods (except with the ability to delete different types of browsing data).
However, there is a way to delete just your cache if you are willing to take a few extra steps:
- Enable the secret “Develop” menu by going to Safari > Preferences > Advanced [tab] > click the “Show Develop menu in the menu bar” box at the bottom. This will enable the new Develop pull-down menu at the top of your browser window, which houses a bunch of under-the-hood goodies you probably won’t ever need.
- Click on the Develop menu and scroll down to “Empty Caches” (or alternatively, press Option-Apple key-E after the Develop menu has been enabled.)
- Select the … icon in the top right corner of the browser window to get to the settings menu
- In the settings menu, towards the bottom, click on “Choose what to clear”
- Select “Cookies and saved website data” and “Cached data and files”
- Click on clear
