Children Youth R.E. Highlights
WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY MORNING
A Guide for Parents
9:30: Childcare opens (for ages 0-10) in the nursery. Youth in Junior and Senior High (Grades 6- 12) gather in Room 001 (RE Common Area) downstairs.
10:45-11:00: Pick up or make name badges at the RE Table (usually located in the lobby near the Sanctuary doors). All children through 5th grade must have contact information on file before attending class. Parents of children through 3rd grade need to wear a wristband bearing the child’s name to show at pick up.
11:00: Worship Service: Elementary school age children begin the worship service with their families. After the Story for All Ages, the children go to their classes with a designated adult.
11:00: Classes for Middle Schoolers and Senior High Youth begin in classrooms adjacent to Room 001 (RE Common Area) in the lower level.
12:15-12:20: Pick up time for children through 5th grade. The lessons, activities, and community time in class are part of the program design, and they are important, so please wait until12:15 to pick up children unless it is an emergency.
12:15: Youth in Middle School and Senior High are dismissed on their own at and should rejoin their families promptly.
We do not leave children unsupervised. If for some reason you aren’t able to pick up your child by 12:20, the teacher may take them to the nursery and sign them in, and you will be able to pick them up there.
NOTICE TO PARENTS WHO USE CHILDCARE
We welcome you to the Greenville Fellowship. Our policy of
inclusion includes our youngest members too—we want everyone to feel
welcome, supported, and safe. With that in mind, we need to inform and
remind you of several nursery policies.
SNACKS: Due to concerns about serious food allergies, we request that you not send snacks with your child. If you need to send a snack from home, it may consist only of fresh (unprocessed) fruits and vegetables, with the exception of citrus, kiwi, and mango. We can’t allow any foods containing soy, dairy, wheat, oils, legumes, or nuts in the nursery rooms.
CHILDCARE FOR OLDER CHILDREN: Our nursery is intended primarily to serve the needs of infants, toddlers, and young children through age 4. We do offer limited childcare for older children whose parents are attending choir practice, meetings, or classes between 9:30-10:45 on Sundays.
Parents of children over age 4 need to pick them up from the nursery between 10:45 and 10:55 to begin in the regular worship service with their families. The children may exit with their classmates after the Story for All Ages or remain with their parents in the service. Children in the Pre-School group of 3-4 year olds may stay in the nursery during the service.
Parents of nursery children need to fill out the official GUUF registration form. We have used the nursery sign-in sheets in the past, but have found we sometimes need more complete information. This official form helps us know about your child, and to contact you if necessary. These forms are available in the nursery, or from firstname.lastname@example.org . Your information is NEVER shared.
