We are excited to announce that Rev. Lisa Bovee-Kemper will be joining us on July 16th as our Developmental Minister!

Following a thoughtful, energizing period of discernment involving an outstanding field of seven candidates, the Board voted to approve a two-year contract with Rev. Bovee-Kemper. Rev. Bovee-Kemper brings with her a passion for worship and social justice, along with a strong knowledge base regarding what it takes for a church of our size to fully live into its promise and principles. We look forward to the work that we, as a congregation, will be undertaking with her leadership.

Personal Message From Lisa

To the members & friends of the Greenville UU Fellowship,

I am delighted to have accepted the board’s offer to serve as your minister! My conversations with the committee have been generative and animated, and I look forward to meeting you all in July. I see in GUUF a congregation with strong existing ministries and great potential for shared ministry as you seek to discern your next steps as a religious community. I look forward to working together. I am a lifelong UU with a decade of experience in parish ministry, most recently at the UU Congregation of Asheville, just a bit north of y’all.

My ministry is grounded in my chaplain’s heart, my identity as an artist, and my commitment to activism. My passions and strengths as a minister include providing pastoral care, creating dynamic worship services, and empowering people to find their own passions. My family and I are excited to come down the mountain and make our home in the Upstate.

In Faith,
Lisa
