Adult Exploration Program

We strive to help individuals of all ages experience connections, compassion and creativity while exploring our liberal religious heritage: the Jewish and Christian roots from which we spring; the Eastern religious traditions that have nurtured us; the insights of philosophy and science that have expanded our knowledge; and our sense of union with one another, our planet and the universe.

Adults, Young Adults / Young Families
Religious Education
Each Sunday: 9:45 - 10:50

We believe that lifespan religious education is vital for the growth of our fellowship, our community and ourselves. Our Adult Religious Education program is progressive in theory and liberal in theological and ethical perspectives. We provide a mix of spiritual, social, and intellectual stimulation. See our building community page for a variety of other activities.

What is a Young Adult/Young Family?
An adult is anyone over the age of 18. However, this is often too young to feel like you fit in, because some 18-year olds are still doing youth activities. We aren't defining this Young Adult/Young Family, because roughly it is 18-35, which is a rather wide age group. Instead, if you feel you fit with the young adult/young family group, contact Anna Lucas.

Discussion Groups
Discussion groups are an ongoing endeavor. There is a general discussion group that meets in the Founder's Room. Group members choose the topics, which range from social justice to political to personal topics. A Course in Miracles meets each week and is located in the Left Overflow Room (in Narthex facing Sanctuary, it is the room on the left). A Course in Miracles is a self-study course that explores a spiritual thought system.

Classes and Workshops
Adult Classes are run throughout the year. Time periods for classes are 9:45 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. before Service; 12:30 p.m. after Service; and on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. These classes are advertised in The Flame (newsletter) and The Spark (weekly notice). Classes require signing up in advance. Childcare is always available on a need basis. During our before Church Service classes, the nursery is open at 9:30 a.m. Please indicate your need when registering for all other classes. Classes usually run from 6-12 classes. Some classes run every week, others skip holidays or other days to accommodate facilitators and participants. Often workshops are usually shorter than 6-12 sessions, and include such things as flute making, labyrinth walking, etc. Pre-registration is required for these, as well. Childcare available if requested at registration.

Ongoing Groups
Our ongoing groups often require registration and are noted in The Flame and The Spark, our weekly and monthly newsletters..

Please ask facilitators about babysitting, if you require it.
